The Air Operations Control Station Nieuw-Milligen (AOCS NM) of the Royal Netherlands Air Force is located near Nieuw-Milligen (in the municipality of Apeldoorn). It is home to: the 710th Sqn. Control & Reporting Centre Squadron (CRC) the 711th Sqn. Air Traffic Control Squadron (MilATCC, i.e. Military Air Traffic Control Centre) the 970th Sqn.

Assel is a hamlet in the municipality of Apeldoorn in the Netherlands, located close to the village of Hoog Soeren. Assel is located roughly 12 kilometres west of Apeldoorn. Assel is a hamlet comprising twelve houses, a burial site, a chapel (the chapel of the Holy Spirit), a camping site and a restaurant. In the past Assel was known for iron mining. Assel used to have its own train station.

Uddel is a village on the Veluwe, in the municipality of Apeldoorn, Gelderland, Netherlands. Uddel is located on the N310 from Elburg to Arnhem. The oldest mention of Uddel dates back to the year 792, as the settlement Uttiloch. The village had 2,830 inhabitants in 2004. Uddel is a conservative Protestant village, located on the Dutch Bible Belt. In the 2006 municipal elections, 65 percent of the local population voted for the Reformed Political Party.

Radio Kootwijk
Radio Kootwijk is a small town in the Dutch municipality of Apeldoorn, with (in 2006) approximately 120 inhabitants. It is situated in a heather- and forest-rich territory in the Veluwe region, east of the sandhills of the Kootwijkerzand and the town of Kootwijk. The housing accommodations of Radio Kootwijk arose as a result of the building of a shortwave transmitter site with the same name, starting in 1918.
