Wimmenum

Wimmenum is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the municipality of Bergen, about 2 km north of Egmond aan den Hoef. Wimmenum was a separate municipality from 1817 to 1857, when it was merged with Egmond-Binnen.

Egmond aan den Hoef

Egmond aan den Hoef is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Bergen, and lies about 7 km west of Alkmaar. Until 2001, Egmond aan den Hoef was part of the municipality of Egmond. In 2001 Egmond aan den Hoef had 2491 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.42 km², and contained 922 residences. The wider statistical area of Egmond aan den Hoef had a population of around 3540, which had risen to 3920 by end 2008.

Egmond (municipality)

Egmond is a former municipality in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. In 2001, it was merged with the municipalities of Schoorl and Bergen to form the municipality of Bergen. The three main villages in the former municipality are Egmond aan den Hoef, Egmond aan Zee and Egmond-Binnen.

Egmond Abbey

Egmond Abbey or St. Adalbert's Abbey (Dutch: Abdij van Egmond, Sint-Adelbertabdij) is a Benedictine monastery of the Congregation of the Annunciation between Egmond aan den Hoef and Bakkum in Egmond-Binnen in the municipality of Bergen in the Dutch province of North Holland. Founded in 975 and destroyed in the Reformation, it was re-founded in 1935 as the present Sint-Adelbertabdij, under the Diocese of Haarlem.

Alkmaarderhout

The Alkmaarderhout, more commonly known as the "Hout" was a multi-purpose stadium in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Until 2006 it was used mostly for football matches as the home ground of Eredivisie team AZ. The stadium had a capacity of 8,914 people and was built in 1948. In 2006 it was replaced by the brand new, state of the art DSB Stadion and the Hout has been knocked down, possibly to make way for a new housing development.
