Mangawhero River

The Mangawhero River is in the North Island of New Zealand. It drains the south-western slopes of Mount Ruapehu, passes though Ohakune before discharging into the Whangaehu River to the south-west of Mangamahu. On 8 September 1979 up to 17,000 litres of heating oil were spilt into the river from the Turoa ski field.

Cullinane College Wanganui is an integrated, co-educational college in Wanganui, New Zealand for students in Year 9 to Year 13. Cullinane College was founded in 2003, through the combining of Sacred Heart College (founded in 1880 and operated by the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth) and St Augustines College (founded in 1944 and operated by the priests and brothers of the Society of Mary).

Moutoa Gardens

Moutoa Gardens, also known as Pakaitore, is a park in the city of Wanganui, New Zealand. Named after the Battle of Moutoa Island in the Second Taranaki War, it contains a memorial to the battle inscribed "To the memory of the brave men who fell at Moutoa, 14 May 1864, in defence of law and order against fanaticism and barbarism. " It also contained a statue of John Ballance, organiser of a volunteer cavalry troop in Titokowaru's War and later Premier of New Zealand.
