Kaponga

Kaponga is a small town in the southern part of the Taranaki region of New Zealand. It is known as "The Gateway to Dawson's Falls" on Mount Taranaki/Egmont. Kaponga is located inland from Manaia and Eltham, and is on the main road connecting Eltham to Opunake. Opunaki is 26 kilometres to the west and Eltham is 13 km to the east. Auroa lies to the south-east. Manaia is 15 kilometres south of Kaponga. The population was 372 in the 2006 Census, an increase of 21 from 2001.

Eltham, New Zealand

Eltham is a small inland town in South Taranaki, New Zealand, located 50 kilometres south of the city of New Plymouth and southeast of the volcanic cone of Mount Taranaki/Egmont. Stratford is 11 kilometres north, Kaponga 13 km west, and Hawera is 19 km south. State Highway 3 runs through the town. Eltham is South Taranaki's second largest town. Population was 1980 in the 2006 Census, a decrease of 120 from 2001.

Kapuni

Kapuni is a small hydrocarbons field and drilling site in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located within a dairy farming area in Taranaki, 85 km south of New Plymouth. It is the second largest onshore gas/condensate field in New Zealand after the Maui gas field off the Taranaki coast. Economically viable quantities of oil and gas were discovered in 1959 by a Royal Dutch/Shell-British Petroleum-Todd consortium, and full production began in 1969.

Ngaere

Ngaere is a village situated on State Highway 3, 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) south of Stratford, New Zealand. The name "Ngaere" literally means "swamp" in English, and before settlement, the area was covered by a vast and ancient wetland. For a time, the name was spelt "Ngaire", but it was changed to its Maori spelling in 1909.
