Kornsjø

Kornsjø is a village in Enningdalen in Halden, Norway on the border to Sweden. The village has 250 residents (2001). At Kornsjø is the bordercrossing for the railway lines Østfoldbanen (Norway) and Norgebanan (Sweden). Previously change of crew was performed at Kornsjø Station, but this has since been closed.

Iddefjord

The Iddefjord (a classic fjord with a narrow watercourse and steep natural formations on both sides) runs along the Norwegian – Swedish border from the Singlefjord. The Iddefjord separates the Swedish province of Bohuslän in the county of Västra Götaland from the Norwegian municipality of Halden in the county of Østfold. It opens to the Skagerrak via the Svinesund and Hvaler archipelago (a cluster of classic skerries).

Kornsjø Station

Kornsjø Station is a railway station located at Kornsjø in Halden, Norway, on the Østfold Line. The station is located 1 kilometre from the Norway–Sweden border and was opened in 1879 for changing crew on international trains between Sweden and Norway and for the customs office. The building was destroyed by fire in 1898 and a new larger stone building was built. The restaurant was taken over by Norsk Spisevognselskap from 1 August 1924, but was then privatized from 1932.

Idd

Idd is a parish and former municipality in Halden, Østfold county, Norway. The parish of Id was established as a municipality January 1, 1838. The rural municipality was merged with the city of Halden January 1, 1967. Prior to the merger Idd had a population of 7,213. The municipality (originally the parish) is probably named after an old name of the vicarage. The meaning of the name is, however, unknown. Until 1918 the name was written Id.
