Bandak

Bandak is a lake in the municipality of Kviteseid and Tokke in Telemark county, Norway. The lake, which is part of the Telemark Canal route, belongs to the Skien watershed. The river Tokke flows into the lake, and the outlet is via the river Straumane, to Kviteseidvatn. The Tokke Hydroelectric Plant utilizes the hydraulic head from Lake Vinje to Lake Bandak of ~394 meters to generate electricity. It is one of northern Europe's largest power plants with a production of some 440,000 kilowatts.

Skafså

Skafså is a parish in southern part of the municipality Tokke in Telemark, Norway. The Skafså Church was consecrated in 1839. The mountain farm Grimdalen, today a museum (Grimdalstunet), has farm buildings from the time of barter economy in the 17th century. Nearby is a collection of around 300 of Anne Grimdalen's sculpures.

Høydalsmo

Høydalsmo is a village in Tokke municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It has about 300 permanent residents. Høydalsmo is known for its skiing facilities. The world's first organized skiing contest, won by Sondre Norheim, was held in Høydalsmo. Høydalsmo hosted the Norwegian cross-country skiing championships in 2002. The wrestler Gromguten hails from Høydalsmo.

Dalen, Telemark

Dalen is the administrative centre of Tokke municipality, Norway. Its population is 801. Dalen is located on and around the delta where the river Tokke flows into the west end of the lake Bandak. Dalen is the westernmost endpoint of the Telemark Canal to Skien, and became a tourist site with the canal traffic. Dalen Hotel from 1894 is among the largest wooden buildings in Norway. Also in Dalen is the hydroelectric power station Tokke kraftverk which exploits the fall from the lake Vinje.
