Dalbandin

Dalbandin is a town and Union council of Balochistan, Pakistan. Dalbandin is famous for fruit orchards. On 19 January 2011, it was struck by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. At that time it was a sparsely populated area with a population of 15,000. The tremors of the earthquake were felt from Dubai in the middle-east to Karachi and Lahore in eastern Pakistan. The damage from earthquake was limited since Dalbandin is sparsely populated and the earthquake was shallower.

Balochistan

Balochistan or Baluchistan (lit. Land of the Baloch) is an arid, desert and mountainous region on the Iranian plateau in south-western Asia, northwest of the Indian Ocean near the Persian Gulf. It mainly includes southwestern Pakistan, southeastern Iran and a smaller section of southwestern Afghanistan. Balochistan is named after the native Baloch tribes who make up the majority of the inhabitants in the region.
