PIA Flight 688

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Flight 688 (PK688, PIA688) was scheduled to operate from Multan to Lahore and Islamabad at 12:05 pm on 10 July 2006. It crashed into a field after bursting into flames a few minutes after takeoff from Multan International Airport. All 41 passengers and four crewmembers on board were killed.

Multan is located in the southern part of Punjab, province in Pakistan. Multan features an arid climate with very hot summers and cold winters. Services Club Multan or Multan Garrison Mess (abbreviated as MGM) is an old building in Multan. It is unique in that it has thirteen domes of different sizes. There was no building with thirteen domes of different sizes in the world when it was created. It was built by Nawab of Bahawalpur during the British colonial period in Multan.
