The Black Cat Track or Trail is a rough overland track in Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. It runs from the village of Salamaua on the coast of the Huon Gulf, south into the mountains to the township of Wau.

Huon District

Huon District is a district of the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea. Its capital is Salamaua. The population of the district was 59,754 at the 2000 census.

Yokohama Maru (1912)

The Yokohama Maru was a 6143 gross ton passenger and cargo vessel built by Mitsubishi Dockyard & Engine Works, Nagaski for Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and launched in 1912. The ship was used on the Guam to Japan route. She was requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Army and fitted out as a troop transport. On 10 March 1942, while being unloaded off Salamaua, Yokohama Maru was attacked as part of the invasion fleet at Lae and Salamaua and was sunk at 7-01S, 147-07E.

Nassau Bay, Papua New Guinea

Nassau Bay is a bay to the south of Salamaua, Morobe Province in the Huon Gulf. The United States Army's 162nd Infantry Regiment landed at Nassau Bay on the night of the 29–30 June 1943, to set up a beachhead and supply dump for the future push towards recapturing Salamaua.
