Battle of Cerro Corá
The battle of Cerro Corá was fought on 1 March 1870 on a hill-surrounded valley of the same name, in the north-east of Paraguay. This was the last battle in the Paraguayan War. Estimatives claim that Francisco Solano López's personal guard had from 100 to 250 soldiers. Also present were a group of women, led by Lopez's mistress Eliza Lynch. This group was composed of the soldier's wives, daughters, and others, who supported the soldiers called "Las Residentas".

Cerro Cora National Park
Cerro Cora National Park is the biggest protected area in Paraguay. It is located in Amambay Region, close to the border with Brazil. It was established by a decree on February 11, 1976. It is a Natural Reservation, as well as an historical and cultural center. This place was the setting where last battle of Paraguayan War took place, on March 1, 1870. The park has historical monuments, a recreation area and beaches at the Aquidaban River side.
