Matabungkay
Matabungkay Beach is a white sand beach reasonably accessible to Manila (120 km or so) that was originally 'discovered' to be a great weekend or daytrip destination in the early 1950s, allegedly by sun starved residents of Manila. In fact the German Club had a cottage there then. It was soon a popular target for holidaylovers and permanent cottages (even deluxe beach houses) were built along the beach line (and some into the beach) in the early 1960s for rich Manila folk.

Fort Frank
Fort Frank (Carabao Island, the Philippines) was one of the defense forts at the entrance to Manila Bay established by the United States. The entire island was designated as Fort Frank, in honor of Brigadier General Royal T.
