Vilamoura

Vilamoura is the largest luxury tourist complex in Europe, covering some 20 km² of land. It is located in the municipality of Loulé, in the Algarve, Portugal. Its boundaries lie within the parish of Quarteira. Vilamoura is a purpose-built resort and marina which was started from scratch by Cupertino de Miranda, a wealthy banker from Porto, in 1974 and is still expanding outwards from the marine center.

Almancil

Almancil is a town in the civil parish of Loulé in the Algarve region in the south of Portugal. Almancil is a resort on the southern shoreline of Portugal enjoying a warm climate around the year. It has become an important hub for service providers catering for the needs of two well-established holiday and residential developments nearby. These are Quinta Do Lago and Vale Do Lobo. 2010 European Cross Country Championships

The 2010 European Cross Country Championships was a continental cross country running competition that took place on 12 December in Albufeira, Portugal. It was the second time that the country hosted the event, building upon the 1997 edition held in Oeiras. Serhiy Lebid won the men's race for his ninth victory of the championship – a record for the competition. France took the men's team title.

Boliqueime

Boliqueime is a Portuguese parish, located in the municipality of Loulé. It is located at 37°7'60N 8°9'0W and has an altitude of 43 m (144 ft), the population of the parish is 4,473 inhabitants with a total area of 41.46 km². Aníbal Cavaco Silva, who was elected president of Portugal in 2006, was born in this village in 1939.
