The Rio Guajataca is a river on the island of Puerto Rico. It is located in the northwest coast of the island. It flows from the south and drains into the Atlantic Ocean. Guajataca River has a length of approximately 25.5 miles (41 kilometres) with its origin in the municipality of Lares, Puerto Rico at an altitude of approximately 1,600 feet (488 metres) above sea level. In addition to some military Reserve Component activity from the U.S. Army Reserve and, the Puerto Rico Army and Air National Guard, a portion of the former Air Force Base is operated by the United States Coast Guard as Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen.
