Forming at an altitude of 3,920 feet, Rio Prieto originates at the second highest point of any river in the municipality after Rio Inabon. It empties into Rio Cerrillos. Together with Rio Blanco, Río Prieto is one of the two rivers in Ponce with a mouth at the highest elevation (both at 1,381 feet). This river is one of the 14 rivers in the municipality.

Hacienda Buena Vista

Hacienda Buena Vista, also known as Hacienda Vives (or Buena Vista Plantation in English), is a coffee plantation and estate in Ponce, Puerto Rico, established in the 19th century. The plantation was started by Don Salvador de Vives in 1833. It is now owned by the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust (Fideicomiso de Conservación), who operates it as a museum.
