Cârţa Monastery

Cârţa Monastery is a former Cistercian monastery in the Ţara Făgăraşului region in southern Transylvania in Romania, currently a Lutheran Evangelical church belonging to the local Saxon community. It lies on the left bank of the Olt River, between the cities of Sibiu and Făgăraş, close to the villages of Cârţa and Cârțișoara .

Chirpăr is a commune located in Sibiu County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Chirpăr, Săsăuş (Sachsenhausen; Szászház), Vărd (Werd; Vérd) and Veseud (Zied; Vessződ). Chirpăr and Veseud villages have fortified churches.

Vurpăr

Vurpăr is a commune located in Sibiu County, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Vurpăr. In 2002, it had 2359 inhabitants, of whom 1298 Romanians, 1010 Roma, 50 Germans and 1 other. 2154 inhabitants were Romanian Orthodox, with most of the rest belonging to newer Protestant faiths (aside from 29 Lutherans). Germans were long dominant in Burgberg, founded in the 13th century. Most residents of the commune, governed by a mayor and a council, work in agriculture.
