The area of the district is 1,887 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the town of Pochep. Population: 42,365; 46,972; 48,957. Zhukovka

Zhukovka is a town and the administrative center of Zhukovsky District of Bryansk Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Desna River 56 kilometers northwest of Bryansk. Population: 18,269; 19,731; 19,706. It was founded in 1868 as a railway station on the Oryol–Riga railroad, better known as Riga — Oryol Railway. In following years the settlement grew around the Zhukovka station. The 43-kilometer branch line leads to Kletnya. Town status was granted to it in 1962.
