Beryozovye Islands

Beryozovye Islands, alternatively spelled Berezovye Islands, is an island group in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. The islands are situated at the bottom of the Gulf of Finland, just outside the town of Primorsk on the Karelian Isthmus. There are 15 islands in the group, the largest is Bolshoy Beryozovy . Other islands include Zapadny Beryozovy and Severny Beryozovy . The total area of the group, stretching along the coast for 200 km, is 92 km².

Sovetsky, Leningrad Oblast

Sovetsky is an urban locality in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, and a station of the Vyborg–Primorsk railroad. It is situated on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Vyborg on the Karelian Isthmus. Population: 7,131; 6,607; 6,471. Until the Winter War and Continuation War, it had been the administrative center of the Johannes municipality of the Viipuri province of Finland.

Vyborg Bay

Vyborg Bay is a deep inlet running northeastward near the eastern end of Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. The city of Vyborg is located near the head of the gulf. The bay is connected by the Saimaa Canal to the lake Saimaa in Finland. In 1790 the bay was the scene of one of the largest naval battles in history, the Battle of Vyborg Bay with a total of 498 Russian and Swedish ships. The end of the bay is called Zashchitnaya Bay (Russian: бухта Защитная, Finnish: Suomenvedenpohja.
