Yongin

Osan College Station

Osan College Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 1. The name of the station is quite misleading, since the actual Osan University is about a mile away from this station, and is closer to the next station on Line 1. It is also near the world famous Osan Arboretum.

Battle of Osan

The Battle of Osan was the first engagement between United States and North Korean forces during the Korean War, on July 5, 1950. A U.S. task force of 400 infantry supported by an artillery battery was moved to Osan, south of the South Korean capital Seoul, and ordered to fight as a rearguard to delay advancing North Korean forces while additional U.S. troops arrived in the country to form a stronger defensive line to the south.

Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory

Kyung Hee Astronomical Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Kyung Hee University. It is located in Giheung-gu, Yongin, South Korea. It was the first observatory in the nation to discover a variable star, later named the Kyung Hee Star.
