Pyrénées – Mont Perdu World Heritage Site

The Pyrénées – Mont Perdu World Heritage Site is a world heritage site straddling the border between Spain and France in the Pyrenees mountain chain. The summit of Mont Perdu is on the Spanish side of the border. The site was designated in 1997 and extended north in 1999 to include the Commune of Gèdre in France. The site includes two bordering national parks: the entire Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park in Spain and the eastern part of Pyrénées Occidentales National Park in France.

San Juan de Plan

San Juan de Plan is a municipality located northeast of Plan in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. According to the 2004 census, the municipality has a population of 147 inhabitants. The Romanesque church of the former abbey of San Juan Bautista, for which the community is named, was enlarged in the sixteenth century. The sixteenth-century abbot's house now houses the ethnographic museum.

Cirque de Gavarnie

The Cirque de Gavarnie is a cirque in the central Pyrenees, in south-western France. The cirque is 800 m wide (on the deepest point) and about 3000 m wide at the top. It is located within the commune of Gavarnie, the department of Hautes-Pyrénées, and the Pyrenees National Park. Major features of the cirque are La Brèche de Roland and the Gavarnie Falls.
