Engaña Tunnel

The Engaña Tunnel (Spanish: Túnel de la Engaña) is a never-completed railway tunnel in Spain, connecting the provinces of Burgos and Cantabria through the Cantabrian Mountains. The tunnel was part of the proposed Santander–Mediterranean railway line, an attempt by the Spanish government to connect the Bay of Biscay with the Mediterranean Sea. The construction lasted for over seventeen years, from 1941 to 1959, employing hundreds of workers, including Republican prisoners during the first years.

Bostronizo

Bostronizo is a town in the Arenas de Iguña municipality of the Spanish region of Cantabria. In the year 2004 its population was 137. Bostronizo is located 2.8 kilometers from the capital of the municipality, Arenas de Iguña, and 425 meters (1,394 feet) above sea level. The church of San Román de Moroso, registered as a cultural heritage site and protected since 1931, can be found here.

Arija

Arija is a small town and municipality in the Province of Burgos, located to the north of the provincial capital Burgos, in the autonomous community of Castile-Leon, Spain. The town's history dates back more than thousand years. Is divided into 'neighborhood above' and 'neighborhood below' or 'Vilga'. It consisted of the Santa Gadea de Alfoz.
