Monastery of Carboeiro

The Monastery of San Lourenzo de Carboeiro is one of the architectural works of the late Romanesque, the transition to the Gothic, most outstanding of Galicia. It is a Benedictine monastery founded in the 10th century and which lived their moments of greatest splendor between centuries 11th and 13th which is still in good condition to his church and some monastic departments, through the works of restoration and recovery made from the second half of the twentieth century.
