Sävsjö Municipality

Sävsjö Municipality (Sävsjö kommun) is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden where the town Sävsjö is seat. The municipality was created by the local government reform of 1971, when the City of Sävsjö (instituted as late as 1947) was amalgamated with parts of two adjacent rural municipalities. Two years later it was completed when Hjälmseryd was added.

Komstad

Komstad is a village in the former Norra Ljunga Parish, Småland, Sweden, suited about 4 km west of Sävsjö town. It is an old village, mentioned in historical records as early as 1370. From this village came Jonas Bronck who gave name to The Bronx, New York, USA. Komstad was previously the location for the parish's Thing and was the main village in Västra Härad (western part of Njudung). But when the railroad was constructed in the 1860s, nearby Sävsjö became the new main town in the region.

Bäckaby

Bäckaby is a small village south of Vetlanda in the southern Swedish province of Småland. Bäckaby has a stone church, a kindergarten, a summer café and a small hostel called Plymska Huset. Bäckaby has 232 inhabitants. Bäckaby's old church was a wooden church which was moved to Jönköping in 1902. Its oldest parts were from the 14th century. The church was burnt to the ground in 2000.

Karlstorp

Karlstorp, spelled Carlstorp in old writings, is a small village in Vetlanda Municipality in Jönköping County, in southern Sweden. It lies 42 km from the town of Vetlanda and 18 km from Mariannelund, and has a population of about 50. Otto Lindblad, composer of Kungssången, the Swedish royal anthem, came from Karlstorp.
