Battle of Axtorna

The Battle of Axtorna or simply Axtorna, was a battle fought between the Kingdom of Sweden and the Kingdom of Denmark October 20, 1565 at Axtorna, a small village in what is today Falkenberg Municipality, Halland County in south-western Sweden.

Skärte

Skärte is a nature reserve in Varberg Municipality, Sweden. It has an area of 18.2 hectares. The reserve was established in 2006. The land is privately owned but managed by Halland County Council. Skärte consists of two hills, covered with oak forest. Between the hills there is a ravine. In the ravine runs a stream, Stenån, which also passes through the nearby Gässlösa.

Gässlösa

Gässlösa is a nature reserve in Varberg Municipality, Sweden. It's situated close to Rolfstorp. The reserve has an area of 34.5 hectares. It was established in 1977.

Grimeton VLF transmitter

The Grimeton VLF transmitter is a VLF transmission facility at Grimeton close to Varberg, Sweden. It has the only working Alexanderson alternator rotating armature radio transmitter in the world and is classified as a World Heritage Site. The transmitter was built in 1922 to 1924; to operate at 17.2 kHz, although it is designed on frequencies up to 40 kHz.

Ny Varberg

Ny Varberg (New Varberg) was a city founded sometime between 1429 and 1434 about five kilometres north of present-day Varberg, Sweden. It was abandoned around 1612. The city was located at a crossroads where the roads from Småland and Västergötland met the royal road through Halland. To have access to the sea, a canal 700 metres long was built between Kattegat and Himleån. It is unclear who founded the city or why.
