Imtan is a village in As Suwaydā' Governorate, southern Syria. Imtan is located 37 km south-east of the city of As Suwaydā', 1189 meters above sea level in the southern part of Jabal el Druze. Salkhad

Salkhad is a Syrian city in the As Suwayda governorate, southern Syria. It is the capital of Salkhad District, one of the governorate's three districts. It has a population of 15,000 inhabitants. It is located at 1350 metres above sea level in the central Jabal el Druze highlands.

Salkhad District

Salkhad is a Syrian district administratively belonging to As-Suwayda Governorate. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 60,375. Its administrative centre is the city of Salkhad.

Jabal al-Druze

Jabal al-Druze, officially Jabal al-Arab is an elevated volcanic region in southern Syria, in the As-Suwayda Governorate. Most of the inhabitants of this region are Arab Druze, and there are also small Arab Christian communities. Safaitic inscriptions were first found in this area. It was an autonomous state in the French Mandate of Syria from 1921 to 1936, under the same name.

Battle of al-Mazraa

The Battle of al-Mazra'a was one of the major battles of the Great Syrian Revolt, that led to the spread of the rebellion throughout the French Mandate of Syria. It was fought on 2–3 August 1925 between Druze and Bedouin rebels led by Sultan Pasha al-Atrash and a heavily-armed French force of the Army of the Levant near the town of al-Mazraa, around 12 kilometres northwest of the city of al-Suwayda.
