Datong, Yilan

Datong (大同) is a rural township in the southwestern part of Yilan County, Taiwan. It is predominantly populated by Taiwanese aborigines of the Atayal Tribe. The township is dominated by rugged mountains and wide river valleys. Most settlements in the county are located along the Lanyang River valley which runs from the central mountains of Taiwan into the Lanyang Plain. The villages of Datong include Hanxi, Lunpi, Songluo, Yingshi, Leshui, Mao'an, Siji, and Nanshan.

Wulai District

Wulai District is a rural district in southern New Taipei City in northern Republic of China (Taiwan). It sits near the border with Taipei and is famous for its hot springs. It is the largest district in New Taipei as well as the most mountainous. The name of the town derives from the Atayal phrase qilux ulay meaning "hot and poisonous".

Jiaoxi, Yilan

Jiaoxi/ Chiaohsi is a rural township in the northern part of Yilan County, Taiwan, famous for its hot springs. These attract large numbers of visitors so as the result, Jiaoxi has become a favorite weekend resort, featuring an array of hotels from the budget to the luxurious. There is also a few free public hot spots, mostly sheltered, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely foot bath at any time.

Luodong, Yilan

Luodong is an urban township in the central part of Yilan County, Taiwan. Its name derives from the Kavalan word rutung, meaning "monkey", referring to a large population of monkeys there half century ago. Luodong is famed for its large, beautifully landscaped sports park. Area: 11.34 km² Population: 73,196 people (2004)
