Losheng Sanatorium

Losheng Sanatorium is a hospital for lepers, which is located in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City (formerly Taipei County), Taiwan. Losheng means "happy life". It was constructed in the 1930s during the Japanese colonial period. At present there has been heated debates and protests about the plans to replace Losheng Sanatorium with a MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) depot.

Alishan National Scenic Area

The Alishan National Scenic Area is a mountain resort and natural preserve located in the mountains of Chiayi County in Taiwan, Republic of China. It is 415 km² in area. It includes, among other things, mountain wilderness, four villages, waterfalls, high altitude tea plantations, the Alishan Forest Railway and several hiking trails. The area is popular among tourists and mountain climbers, and Alishan or Mount Ali itself has become one of the major landmarks associated with Taiwan.

Jiao Lung Waterfall

Jiao Lung Waterfall (蛟龍瀑布) is the tallest measured waterfall in Taiwan, with a sheer plunge of 600 metres . It is located on a cliff of Mount Da Ta near the popular resort of Alishan, in Chiayi County. Its closest city is the small hamlet of Fengshan. Predominantly seasonal, it has been known to have much reduced flow just several days after rain.

Lulin Observatory

Lulin Observatory (Chinese: 鹿林天文台; pinyin: Lùlín Tiānwéntái; literally "Deer Forest Astronomical Observatory") is an astronomical observatory operated by the Institute of Astronomy, National Central University in Taiwan. It is located at the summit of Mount Lulin, on the border of Chiayi County and Nantou County, near Yushan National Park. In 2007, Comet Lulin (C/2007 N3), which will come nearest the Earth on 24 February 2009, was found by this observatory.
