Fort Provintia

{{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:22|59|51|N|120|12|10.12|E|type:landmark |primary |name= }} Sakam Tower, formerly Fort Provintia, in West Central District, Tainan City was built in 1653 by the Dutch during their colonization of Taiwan. The fort was surrendered to Koxinga. Since 1945 the site has been known as Chihkan Tower (赤崁樓), which derives from the Taiwanese aboriginal village name recorded by the Dutch as variants of "Chaccam," "Sakam," "Zaccam," etc.

Tainan Station

Tainan Station (台南車站) is a railway station of the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) Western Line located in the East District, Tainan City, Taiwan. Situated in center of the old town square of Tainan City, Tainan Station is the main station of the city and also one of the major stations along the western trunk line in Taiwan. The Shalun Line, completed in 2011, allows through services to link the station with THSR Tainan Station.

National Cheng Kung University

National Cheng Kung University is a research-led comprehensive university in Tainan City, Taiwan. Its abbreviation is NCKU. In Chinese, its name is shortened to 成大 (Chéng Dà). Cheng Kung is named after Zheng Ch'eng-Kung, who defeated the Dutch and founded the Kingdom of Tungning in Taiwan. National Museum of Taiwan Literature
