Donggang, Pingtung

Donggang or Tungkang is an urban township in west-central Pingtung County, Taiwan. Located on Taiwan's western coastline, along the Taiwan Strait, it has one of Taiwan's largest fishing harbors. The town's primary economic activities are fishing and agriculture. Dapeng Bay with its national scenic area is just south of Donggang. The town also has East Haven Palace of Eastern Prosperity, which worships "Royal Lord Wen" (Chinese: 溫王爺; pinyin: Wēn wángyé.

Chaojhou, Pingtung

Chaojhou Township is an urban township in western Pingtung County, Taiwan. Chaojhou is named for the mainland Chinese city of Chaozhou. According to some historians, settlers from that city landed here in 1724, and thus named this area after their hometown.

Sepia filibrachia

Sepia filibrachia is a species of cuttlefish native to the South China Sea. Its natural range covers the waters off Taiwan, Haikou on Hainan Island, and Guryanova in the Gulf of Tonkin, Vietnam. It lives at depths of 34 to 95 m. Females are on average slightly larger than males. They grow to 70 mm and 62 mm in mantle length, respectively. The type specimen was collected off Ling Yuan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan . S. filibrachia is of commercial interest to fisheries and is marketed in Taiwan.
