Limantepe

The town of Limantepe, sometimes spelled Liman Tepe, on Turkey's western coast is the site a prehistoric settlement that includes an ancient port dating from 2500 years located underwater offshore. The area is situated in the urban zone of the coastal town of Urla near İzmir. The harbor settlement was inhabited starting from 6000 years ago and was equipped with a fortification wall partially submerged in the sea.

Klazomenai

Klazomenai or Clazomenae was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia and a member of the Ionian League. It was one of the first cities to issue silver coinage. Its ruins are now located in the modern town Urla near Izmir in Izmir Province, Turkey.

Urla Clashes

After the Greek army landed at Smyrna, it advanced and occupied Bornova and Karşıyaka. After that it advanced to the Karaburun Peninsula where Urla was situated. According to the population statistics from 1914, 9,321 Turks and 24,711 Greeks were living in Urla.

Efemçukuru

Efemçukuru is a village in Menderes district of İzmir Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|17|N|26|58|E||| | |name= }} it is 48 kilometres to the south of İzmir. The population of Efemçukuru is 533 as of 2011. Main agricultural product is olive. The village has also specialised in organic farming. Efemçukuru was used to be a forest village. But beginning by 2008, the forests around the village are assigned to a Canadian company for gold mining.
