Poyracık

Poyracık is a town in Kınık district of İzmir Province, Turkey. At {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|05|N|27|21|E||| | |name= }} it is very close to Kınık. Distance to İzmir is about 140 kilometres . The population of the town is 5760 as of 2011. Poyracık is an old town and its history can be traced back to Gambrion of the 4th century BC. Bergama Raid

The Greek army landed in May 1919 in Smyrna and was continuing to occupy the area around Smyrna. When the Turks heard that the Greek troops had reached Reşadiye (Zeytindağ) on 10 June 1919, they realized that Bergama was next. Therefore they blow up the ammunition depot in Bergama to prevent the capture of the depot by Greek forces.

Ayaskent, İzmir

Ayaskent (former Ayasili and Ayasköy) is a town in Bergama district of İzmir Province, Turkey. It is situated in the northern part of Bergama plains at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:39|11|N|27|20|E||| | |name= }}. The distance to Bergama is 15 kilometres and to İzmir is 120 kilometres The population of Ayaskent is 1242. Ayaskent (then known as Ayasili) was founded during the Ottoman Empire era. In 1976 Ayaskent was declared a seat of township.

Pergamon Bridge

The Pergamon Bridge is a Roman substruction bridge over the Selinus river (modern Bergama Çayı) in the ancient city of Pergamon, modern-day Turkey. The 196 m wide structure, the largest of its kind in antiquity, was designed during Hadrian's reign (AD 117–138) in order to form a passageway underneath a large court in front of the monumental "Red Basilica" temple complex. The two intact tubes, which consist of supporting walls covered with barrel vaults, still serve their purpose to this day.
