Chatyr-Dag

Chatyr-Dah is a mountainous massif in Crimea, near Simferopol-Alushta highway. In the Crimean Tatar language çatır means tent and dağ means mountain. The mountain consists of two plateaus: the lower (north) and the upper (south). The lower plateau slopes gently down to its northern side, which is covered in steppe grass. On its southern end (near the steep slope of the higher plateau), the lower plateau is covered with beech forests and juniper glades.

Angarskyi Pass

The Angarskyi Pass is a mountain pass of the Crimean Mountains on the Crimean peninsula of southern Ukraine. The pass is the highest point on the Simferopol–Alushta roadway, at 752 metres above sea level. It takes its name from the Angara River, a tributary of the Salhir. During the Middle Ages, only a small footpath ran through the pass. The first postal route going through the Angarskyi Pass was laid by Russian pioneers in 1824–26.

Marble Cave, Crimea

Marble Caves is a cave in Crimea, located at the lower plateau of Chatyr-Dag, mountainous massif. It is a popular tourist attraction site. In 1987, Simferopol speleology team discovered a cave with a complex system of halls and galleries, not far from other caves, Bin Bash-Koba (Thousand Heads) and Suuk-Koba (Cold).

Crimean Mountains

The Crimean Mountains is a range of mountains running parallel to the south-east coast of Crimea, Ukraine, between about 8-13 kilometer (5-8 miles) from the sea. Toward the west, the mountains drop steeply to the Black Sea, and to the east, they change slowly into a steppe landscape. Crimean Mountains consist of three subranges. The highest is the Main range. Main range is subdivided into several massives, known as yaylas or mountain plateaus (Yayla is Crimean Tatar for "Alpine Meadow").

Ayu-Dag

Ayu-Dag or Medved'-gora, is the peak in Crimea, Ukraine. It is also known under Russified name Medved'-gora. The peak is located 16 km north-east from Yalta between the towns of Gurzuf and Partenit. The mountain is laccolith. Today its territory is a Nature reserve (5.5 km). There is a pioneer children's camp Artek near Ayu-Dag (Medved' Mountain) which is well known internationally. The eastern slopes of Ayu-Dag lead to an ancient settlement Partenit.
