Myrhorod Air Base

Myrhorod Airport is an airfield located approximately 3 miles southeast of Myrhorod (Mirgorod), Poltava Oblast, Ukraine. The date the airfield was constructed is not known. In May 1944 the airfield was provided to the United States Army Air Forces as a heavy bomber staging field. It was used by the Eighth and Fifteenth Air Forces for shuttle bombing missions during June through September 1944.

Gammalsvenskby

Verbivka is now part of the village of Zmiyivka in Beryslav Raion of Kherson Oblast, Ukraine which has a Swedish cultural heritage. Zmiyivka also includes three former villages settled by ethnic Germans. These were the two Lutheran villages of Schlangendorf and Mühlhausendorf and the Roman Catholic village of Klosterdorf.
