Alkham Valley

The Alkham Valley is in the Kent Downs (the eastern part of the North Downs), an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in South East Kent, England. The valley, a lies between Folkestone and Dover. The Valley is a dry valley, typical of many others on the chalk downs.

Dover transmitting station

The Dover transmitting station is a facility for broadcasting and telecommunications, located at West Hougham, near Dover, Kent. It has a 243.2 metres high guyed steel lattice mast of triangular cross section. The station is owned by Arqiva. The recommended UHF aerial group is C/D with horizontal polarisation. There is also a relay transmitter located in the town of Dover (Dover Town); in addition FM radio services are covered by the Swingate transmitting station.

Lydden and Temple Ewell Downs

Lydden and Temple Ewell Downs are a stretch of chalk downland near Dover in East Kent. The site is a National Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the Kent Wildlife Trust and is also listed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Special Area of Conservation.

Kearsney railway station

Kearsney railway station serves Kearsney in Kent. It is served by Southeastern. The station and the line it serves were built by the London, Chatham and Dover Railway as the station for Temple Ewell and the parish of River. The community of Kearsney grew around the Railway Bell Hotel which was on the main Dover to London road. The station had a small goods siding, and a siding for passenger trains.
