Purslow

Purslow is a hamlet in south Shropshire, England. It is located on the B4368 between the towns of Clun and Craven Arms. Purslow was originally a hundred and there is a pub in the village called the "Hundred House". There is also a manor house which has existed in some form since the twelfth century. It is believed the name originally comes from the naming of 'Pusse's barrow'. A coat of arms exists for the Purslow family. Sited in Purslow is a war memorial to commemorate those fallen.

River Clun, Shropshire

The River Clun is a river mostly in Shropshire, England which runs through the small town of Clun, as well as through or near a number of other villages situated along its valley. It discharges into the River Teme at Leintwardine, Herefordshire. The Clun Valley is very rural and is part of the Shropshire Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Aston on Clun

Aston on Clun is a village in south Shropshire, England. It lies near to the River Clun, with the brook from Hopesay flowing through the village itself, and is on the B4368 road between the towns of Clun and Craven Arms. The village of Broome, which has a railway station, is also close by. It is in the civil parish of Hopesay. The 2001 census recorded a population of 253. There is a pub, the "Kangaroo Inn", and a small shop/Post Office in the village.

Abcott

Abcott is a hamlet in south Shropshire, England. It lies west, over the River Clun, from the village of Clungunford (which is the parish the hamlet is part of) and was a medieval township. The famous Rocke Cottage tea rooms are in the hamlet (formerly the Bird on the Rock tea rooms, and historically the Rocke Arms public house). Abcott Manor is a Grade II* ("two star") Listed building. Nearby is Hopton Heath, which has a railway station on the Heart of Wales Line.

Burrow (Shropshire)

Burrow is a hill in Shropshire with an Iron Age hill fort at the summit known as Burrow Camp. The nearest villages are Hopesay and Aston-on-Clun. It includes a large number of hut platforms, and two natural springs.
