Grantham Rural District

Grantham was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Kesteven from 1894 to 1931. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Grantham rural sanitary district, the Leicestershire part of which went to form the Belvoir Rural District. In 1931, under a County Review Order, it was abolished, with nealy all of its area going to the West Kesteven Rural District, except the parish of Haceby, which became part of the East Kesteven Rural District.

Harlaxton Manor

Harlaxton Manor, built in 1837, is a manor house located in Harlaxton, Lincolnshire, England. Its architecture, which combines elements of Jacobean and Elizabethan styles with symmetrical Baroque massing, renders the mansion unique among surviving Jacobethan manors. The manor is a popular location for filming. Exterior and interior shots have been featured in the films The Ruling Class, The Last Days of Patton, The Lady and the Highwayman, The Haunting, and The Young Visiters.

West Kesteven Rural District

West Kesteven was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Kesteven, England from 1931 to 1974. It was formed under a County Review Order, by the merger of most of the Grantham Rural District, part of the Sleaford Rural District and much of the Claypole Rural District. It was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972, being merged into the new South Kesteven.

Bassingthorpe

Bassingthorpe is a tiny village in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies in the Bitchfield and Bassingthorpe civil parish, south of Grantham, on a C class road between the B6403 to the west and the B1176 to the east. The village contains 4 houses and a Grade II listed church dedicated to St Thomas. The ecclesiastical parish is part of The North Beltisloe Group of parishes, of the Deanery of Beltisloe in the Diocese of Lincoln.

Wyville

Wyville with Hungerton, or Hungerton-cum-Wyville is a village and civil parish about five miles southwest of Grantham in South Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England. It is also an ecclesiastical parish of the Harlaxton Group of the Grantham Deanery in the Diocese of Lincoln. The incumbent is The Revd Keith Hanson. The whole parish covers about 1,670 acres .
