Borough of Hartlepool

Hartlepool is a unitary authority in the ceremonial county of County Durham, north east England. In 2003 it had a resident population of 90,161. It borders the non-metropolitan county of County Durham to the north, Stockton-on-Tees to the south and Redcar and Cleveland to the south-east along the line of the River Tees. It is centred around the town of Hartlepool and forms part of the Tees Valley area.

Middleton Grange Shopping Centre

Middleton Grange is a shopping centre in Hartlepool, England. It was built in 1969 and it was opened by Princess Anne on 27th May 1970. The site of the shopping centre was originally terraced streets until most of them were bombed during World War II. The original architecture of the building is the 1960s brutalist style. It was originally an outdoor shopping centre but it was converted to an indoor shopping centre in 1992.

Victoria Park, Hartlepool

Victoria Park is a 7,856 capacity football ground in Hartlepool, County Durham, England and it is the home of Hartlepool United. The four sides of the ground are known as the Town End Terrace (official capacity - 1,775), the Niramax Stand (official capacity - 1,617 seated and 1,832 terraced standing), the Cyril Knowles Stand (official capacity - 1,599) and the Rink End (official capacity - 1,033).

Hartlepool's Maritime Experience

Hartlepool's Maritime Experience is a visitor attraction in Hartlepool, County Durham, in the northeast of England. The concept of the attraction is the thematic re-creation of an 18th century seaport, in the time of Lord Nelson, Napoleon and the Battle of Trafalgar. HMS Trincomalee, a Royal Navy frigate and Britain's oldest warship afloat is at the centre of the quay. She was built in Bombay, India in 1817. The 190th anniversary of the ship's official launch was on Friday 12 October 2007.

Museum of Hartlepool

The Museum of Hartlepool opened in 1996 and is located within the attraction Hartlepool's Maritime Experience. It houses the collections once on display in the Gray Art Gallery and Museum and the Maritime Museum which was on the Headland, Hartlepool, both are now closed. The fine art collections are displayed at Hartlepool Art Gallery.
