Pirton, Hertfordshire

Pirton is a small village and civil parish three miles north-west of Hitchin in Hertfordshire, England. The church, rebuilt in 1877, but with the remains of its 12th-century tower, is built within the bailey of a former castle. Pirton Grange, which was remodelled in the 18th century, is in the north of the parish, and is a particularly interesting, moated Elizabethan house with a timber framed gatehouse. Hammonds Farm and Rectory Farm, with its tithe barn, are also Elizabethan.

Barnfield College

Barnfield College is the largest Further Education college in Bedfordshire, England, with three campuses in Luton and one in Harpenden. The College's Chief Executive is Sir Sir Peter Birkett. The college was the first further education college in Britain to sponsor two academies - Barnfield South Academy and Barnfield West Academy. It was also selected by the DfES to run the first Studio School in Britain.

De Grey Mausoleum

The de Grey Mausoleum in Flitton, Bedfordshire, England, is one of the largest sepulchral chapels in the country. It is a Grade I listed building. The Mausoleum contains over twenty monuments to the de Grey family who lived in nearby Wrest Park. The cruciform Mausoleum has its nave set against the north side of the chancel of the adjacent church of St John the Baptist and its south transept overlaps the east end.
