Candover Brook

The Candover Brook is a 1.2 km chalk stream in the English county of Hampshire. It is a tributary of the River Itchen, which it joins near the town of New Alresford. The stream rises from springs just to the south of the village of Preston Candover. It is one of the few rivers remaining in southern England that is home to the endangered native white-clawed crayfish.

Basingstoke Town F.C

The club are currently members of the Conference South, the sixth highest tier of the English league system, and play at The Camrose stadium, named after their late benefactor, Lord Camrose. Other settlements include Bramley, Tadley, Kingsclere, Overton, Oakley, Whitchurch and the hamlet of Deane, some 7 miles from Basingstoke. The district was formed as the District of Basingstoke on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the borough of Basingstoke, Basingstoke Rural District and Kingsclere and Whitchurch Rural District.
