Swyre

Swyre is a village in south west Dorset, England, situated in a valley beside Chesil Beach six miles south east of Bridport. The village has a population of 109. The village church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and was rebuilt in 1843 using old masonry, so appears to be much older. The church contains memorial to members of the local gentry, namely the families of Napier, Squibb, Gollop and Russell.

Abbotsbury Castle

Abbotsbury Castle is an Iron Age hill fort in south west Dorset, England, situated on Wears Hill above the village of Abbotsbury, seven miles west of Dorchester and the famous hill fort at Maiden Castle. The fort was occupied by the Celtic Durotriges tribe and was situated on a high chalk hill overlooking the English Channel, making it the front line of defence from invasion.

Kingston Russell

Kingston Russell is a large mansion house and manor near Long Bredy in Dorset, England, west of Dorchester. The present house dates from the late 17th century but in 1730 was clad in a white Georgian stone facade. The house was restored in 1913, and at the same time the gardens were laid out. The house is on land which was granted to the Russell family (not ancestors of the Russell Dukes of Bedford), by an early king, probably King John (1199–1216) at the end of his reign, or his son Henry III.
