Chard Branch Line

There were two Chard Branch Lines serving the town of Chard in Somerset, England. One was a northward branch, opened in 1863, from the Salisbury to Exeter main line, and the other, opened in 1866, ran south-eastwards from the Bristol - Taunton main line. Each branch had its own Chard passenger station at first, although the two lines connected in Chard.

Taunton Stop Line

The Taunton Stop Line was a World War II defensive line in south west England. It was designed "to stop an enemy's advance from the west and in particular a rapid advance supported by armoured fighting vehicles (up to the size of a German medium tank) which may have broken through the forward defences.

Taunton Town F.C

Taunton Town Football Club are an English football club based in Taunton, Somerset, England. They compete in the Southern Football League Division One South & West, and play their home matches at their Wordsworth Drive ground which they moved into during the 1953 season. The club is affiliated to the Somerset County FA. After being formed in 1947, they were admitted into the Western League in 1953.

Heart Somerset

Heart Somerset (formerly Orchard FM) was an Independent Local Radio station serving Somerset, England. Originally owned by (and officially remains licenced to) Orchard Media Ltd, the company was purchased by GWR Group in 1999, and who subsequently became GCap Media in 2005. The station broadcast from studios at Haygrove House, Shoreditch near Taunton, adjacent to the M5.

Taunton Priory

Taunton Priory, or the Priory of St Peter and St Paul, was an Augustinian monastery founded c. 1115 by William Gyffarde, Bishop of Winchester and Chancellor of England near Taunton, Somerset, England. Its location was due in part to the fact that Taunton was a manor of the Bishops of Winchester. Henry de Blois, successor to William Gyffarde and brother of King Stephen is also shown as a co-founder of the priory, although it is not clear if he had any role in its construction.
