Westenhanger railway station

Westenhanger railway station serves Westenhanger in Kent, England. The station is on the South Eastern Main Line 64+⁄4 miles south east of London Charing Cross. All trains serving Westenhanger are operated by Southeastern. It serves Folkestone Racecourse and the village of Stanford. British Rail proposed the closure of the station as from 3 February 1969.

Sandling railway station

Sandling railway station serves Sandling in Kent, England. The station, and all trains serving it, is operated by Southeastern. The station is also 4+⁄2 miles west of Folkestone Central on the South Eastern Main Line. It is the closest station to the town of Hythe. The ticket office is manned only during part of the day; at other times a PERTIS 'permit to travel' machine, located outside the station building on the 'up' side, suffices.

Farthing Common

Not to be confused with Medway motorway services area formerly known as Farthing Corner Farthing Common is an area of common land about 10 km northwest of Folkestone in East Kent. It is one of the highest points of the North Downs at 185 metres above sea level, and was the junction of the ancient trackway along the Downs from Folkestone, with the Roman road (now the B2068 Stone Street) between Lympne and Canterbury.

Lympne Castle

Lympne Castle is a mediaeval castle near the village of Lympne, Kent, above Romney Marsh. Today, it is used primarily as a venue for corporate events and weddings. It is generally not open to the public. The Estate Manager is Rod Aspinall. Lympne Castle is believed to be haunted, and has attracted mediums and ghost-hunters over the years. In September 1978, the band Wings recorded some sessions for their album Back to the Egg at the castle.
