Whitefield (pop. 23,283) is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies on undulating ground above the Irwell Valley, along the south bank of the River Irwell, 3 miles south-southeast of Bury, and 4.9 miles to the north-northwest of the city of Manchester. Prestwich and the M60 motorway lie to the south.

The hundred of Salford was an ancient division of the historic county of Lancashire, in Northern England. Park Lane (stadium)
Park Lane is a rugby stadium in Whitefield near Bury, Greater Manchester, England. It is the home of Sedgley Park R.U.F.C. and, from 2003–10 Swinton rugby league club. Sedgley Park R.U.F.C. moved to Park Lane in 1955. A large, two-storey clubhouse was completed in 1982 and was extended in the 1990s. Also in the 1990s the club turned its two pitches into one and purchased a field, just across the road, to provide three more much needed pitches.
