Full Sutton Airfield

Full Sutton Airfield is located 8 NM east of York in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is located adjacent to, and south-east of, Full Sutton Prison. The Airfield previously held a CAA Ordinary Licence that allowed flights for the public transport of passengers, or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee, Full Sutton Flying Centre Limited. This license was given up in 2011. The airfield is not licensed for night use.

Battle of Stamford Bridge

The Battle of Stamford Bridge took place at the village of Stamford Bridge, East Riding of Yorkshire in England on 25 September 1066, between an Anglo-Saxon army under King Harold Godwinson and an invading Norwegian force led by King Harald Hardrada of Norway and the English king's brother Tostig Godwinson. After a bloody and horrific battle, both Hardrada and Tostig along with most of the Norwegians were killed.
