River Isla, Perthshire

Not to be confused with the River Isla of Moray, which flows through Strathisla. The River Isla is a tributary of the River Tay in Angus and Perthshire, Scotland. It runs for 46 miles (74 km) through the Kirkton of Glenisla (Baile na h-Eaglais Ghlinn Ìle) and Strathmore (An Srath Mòr).

King's Seat

King's Seat is one of the principal hills of the Sidlaw range in South East Perthshire. At 377 metres, it is classified as a Marilyn. King's Seat is located near Collace and is adjacent to Black Hill and the smaller Dunsinane Hill, made famous by its mention in Shakespeare's play Macbeth.

Meikleour Beech Hedges

The Meikleour Beech Hedge(s) (European Beech = Fagus sylvatica), located near Meikleour, Perth and Kinross, Scotland, alongside the A93 Perth-Blairgowrie Road, was planted in the autumn of 1745 by Jean Mercer and her husband, Robert Murray Nairne on the Marquess of Lansdowne's Meikleour estate. It is said the hedge grows towards the heavens because the men who planted it were killed at the Battle of Culloden.
