Loch of the Lowes

Loch of the Lowes is a loch near Dunkeld in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The loch and the surrounding area are designated as a wildlife reserve, run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. The Loch of the Lowes visitor centre is one of only three visitor centres operated by the Scottish Wildlife Trust, the other two being at Montrose Basin and Falls of Clyde. The reserve land was purchased by the trust in 1969, shortly before the first ospreys started breeding at the site.

Battle of Dunkeld

The Battle of Dunkeld was fought between Jacobite clans supporting the deposed king James VII of Scotland and a government regiment of covenanters supporting William of Orange, King of Scotland, in the streets around Dunkeld Cathedral, Dunkeld, Scotland, on 21 August 1689 and formed part of the Jacobite rising commonly called Dundee's rising in Scotland.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Dunkeld

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Dunkeld is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church in Scotland, forming an episcopal hierarchy distinct from that of England and Wales. The See of Dunkeld is currently vacant (sede vacante), Bishop Vincent Paul Logan having resigned on 30 June 2012; it is a suffragan see of the Archdiocese of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh.

Dunkeld-Birnam

Dunkeld and Birnam is a name given to the towns of Dunkeld and Birnam for a number of different purposes. They are on opposite banks of the River Tay, and are grouped together due to their proximity. The name of the local train station is "Dunkeld and Birnam" for example.
