Llangoed

Llangoed is a small village and community just north of Beaumaris, on the Isle of Anglesey or Ynys Môn, at grid reference SH609793. The Royal Mail postcode begins LL58. Llangoed ward has a population of 1,275 (2001). The village's placename means the 'religious enclosure in the wood' in the Welsh language.

Port Penrhyn

Port Penrhyn is a harbour located just east of Bangor in north Wales at the confluence of the River Cegin with the Menai Strait. It was formerly of great importance as the main port for the export of slate from the Penrhyn Quarry, the largest slate quarry in the world at the end of the nineteenth century. It was built, and later expanded, by the Pennant (later Douglas-Pennant) family of the nearby Penrhyn Castle. Penrhyn is the Welsh word for 'promontory'.

Afon Ogwen

The Afon Ogwen (Welsh, meaning River Ogwen in English) is a river in north-west Wales draining from some of the greatest peaks in Snowdonia before discharging to the sea on the eastern side of Bangor, Gwynedd.

Llanddona

Llanddona is a village famous for its beach in Ynys Môn, North Wales. Located between Benllech and Beaumaris, it is popular as a holiday destination on Anglesey, particularly for families. The beach is a good size without being bleakly huge, shelves at a decent but not alarming rate and has an abundance of clean yellow sand. Llanddona has no shops, however it has a riding school and a pub. The Llanddona transmitting station is located approximately one mile to the north east of the village.

Afon Cadnant

The Afon Cadnant is a small river on Anglesey, North Wales draining to the Menai Strait about 1 km north-east of the Menai Suspension Bridge. The river drains a largely agricultural area from Llandegfan to Llansadwrn and beyond with feeder tributaries extending up towards Pentraeth forest. Within the catchment are some artificial fishing ponds and a number of beef and dairy farms.
