It is located south of Decatur and west of Hartselle at the 5-way stop intersection of Ironman Road, Danville Road, and Neel School Road. A noteworthy Danville native, David Donald Albritton became the first African-American to hold the World High Jump record at 6'9-3/4" set at the Olympic Trials on Randall's Island in the East River between Queens and Manhattan. His jump on July 11, 1936 was 6-3/4" above his height of 6'3".
