Gold Canyon, Arizona

Gold Canyon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 10,159 at the 2010 census. The community is sometimes incorrectly called Gold Camp. The town name is not recognized on weather statements issued by the National Weather Service. The closest city to Gold Canyon is Apache Junction, Arizona. It was one of the filming locations for HBO's 1994 film Blind Justice.

Weaver's Needle

Weaver's Needle is a 1,000-foot-high column of rock that forms a distinctive peak visible for many miles around. Located in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix, Arizona, Weaver's Needle was created when a thick layer of tuff (fused volcanic ash) was heavily eroded, creating the spire as an erosional remnant with a summit elevation of 4553 ft. It is set in a desert landscape of cactus and mesquite bush, with large Saguaro cacti particularly prominent.

Superior is a town in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 3,158. Such films as U Turn by Oliver Stone, Eight Legged Freaks, How the West Was Won, Blind Justice, The Prophecy, Skinwalkers, The Gauntlet with Clint Eastwood, and Young Billy Young are set in Superior. In 2005, a sci-fi film named The Salena Incident, also called Alien Invasion Arizona, was filmed in Superior.

Silver King Mine

The Silver King Mine is an inactive silver mine located near Superior, Arizona in the United States. The richest silver mine in Arizona, it produced an estimated US$42 million worth of silver ore between 1875 and 1900. The mine is located on four patented claims in Comstock Wash, about 1 mile west of Kings Crown Peak and about 3 miles north of Superior, in sec. 24, T1S, R12E.
