Rumley, Arkansas

Rumley is an unincorporated community in Van Buren County, Arkansas, United States. It was founded in 1866 by Henry Rumley. Rumley originally consisted of a series of small homes, a general store and had a largely self-sustaining agrarian economy. As with many contemporary towns, Rumley was situated on a railroad. Trains would provide dry goods and mail to the local store.

Van Buren County is a county located in the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of 2010, the population is 17,295. The county seat is Clinton. The county was formed on November 11, 1833, and named for Martin Van Buren, President of the United States, who was Vice President at the time of the county's formation and Arkansas's admission to the union. It is an alcohol prohibition or dry county.
