Lake McCloud

Lake McCloud is a reservoir on the McCloud River in Northern California. The lake forms behind an earthen dam finished in 1965 by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company to control water flows and for generating hydro-electric power. McCloud Dam (National ID # CA00416) is 235 feet high, 630 feet long at its crest, and impounds a maximum capacity of 35,200 acre-feet.

Wyntoon

Wyntoon is the name of a private estate in rural Siskiyou County, California, owned by the Hearst Corporation. Architects Willis Polk, Bernard Maybeck and Julia Morgan all designed structures for Wyntoon, beginning in 1899. The land, sited at two sharp bends in McCloud River, was named by financial adviser Edward Clark for the local Native American tribe of the Wintun people.

Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens

Dunsmuir City Park and Botanical Gardens is a 10 acre municipal park and botanical garden maintained by Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens Inc. , a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization of volunteers within Dunsmuir City Park in the city of Dunsmuir, California near Mount Shasta. It requires public support to maintain the Gardens which are on City of Dunsmuir property under the general control of Siskiyou County via the Board of Directors of the Dunsmuir Park & Recreation District.

Iron Canyon Dam

Iron Canyon Dam (National ID # CA00417) is a dam in Shasta County, California. The earthen rockfill dam was constructed in 1965 by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company for hydroelectric power, with a height of 214 feet and a length of 1038 feet at its crest. It impounds Iron Canyon Creek. The dam is owned and operated by PG&E. The downstream James Black Powerhouse, one of the largest in the company's system, produces 270 megawatts of power.
